New Batman: Arkham Asylum game coming this summer. I’ve always been a sucker for Batman and this game does look pretty cool. Still waiting on that free PS3 people!!! I need one badly.
Must contain excitement!! Can’t hold it in any longer!! Come on Blizz, get moving!!!!
I have never played a GoW game (I lack a PS3 (hint hint)) but this looks amazing. I don’t know HOW you play, is it full button mashing? Or is it more of a Moral Combat ‘Combo’ building style? If you play GoW and love it, please tell me how to play it in the comments. IF you have a PS3 and want to put it on research loan, email me, and we’ll work something out!
PopCap is giving away goodies!

From Blizzard’s site:
Interesting I guess. Sounds kind of incomplete. StarCraft had full lines of single player for each of the races out of the box, are they trying to PUSH the game out the door? Or are they trying to make more money? No pricing has been announced (NOR A RELEASE DATE!!!), but I’m going out on a limb to say ‘Wings of Liberty’ will be the standard $39-$49, since it includes full multiplayer play.
What would be the reaction to Diablo 3 not allowing the Wizard or Barbarian for single play, unless you buy the expansion? Diablo and World of Warcraft played with this a bit. It’s one thing to add a new class to a game thats getting long in the tooth in an attempt to give it some new life. Historically the added classes have disrupted balance. It has been a long time, but my memory of the ‘Monk’ character added to Diablo, is that it wasn’t very cool, didn’t add much to the lore, and was fairly buggy.
More recently, the addition of the ‘Death Knight’ to World of Warcraft seems almost game breaking. I have played with the DK, and found them VERY powerful, I also have PvPed against DK’s and they seem MORE then OP. WoW PvP players understand this, and you can see it when you go into Battlegrounds. Fighting a team thats 75% DK really underscores where Blizzard went wrong. Don’t even get me started on the state of the game now, suffice it to say that Blizzard has hit a formula to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Some of it is good (Doing away with 40 man instances) but the constant rebalancing results in a rotating ’Flavor of the month’.
If they cannot balance the races and classes out of the gate, how are they going to be balanced in 3 separate releases??
I may just skip SC 2, assuming I can find some thing to tide me over to Diablo 3…
And Blizzard’s unannounced next gen MMORPG? I BEG for World of Diablo, my wife hopes for something a little less addictive!
At least SC2 is pretty!

Look, I know Blizzard makes quality games, and once upon a time, I believed the ridiculously long development cycles were due to a very small programming team. You know, 5 guys in a basement coding a game they BELIEVED in, taking the time to get it right, and balanced. That’s all well and good, if not frustrating for us the gamers, waiting for what we KNOW is going to rock!
Blizzard is now touting 11 MILLION WoW subscribers. With a $12-$14 per month subscription, revenue is something like $132,000,000 – $154,000,000 per month!
(1.5 Billion a year…)
That’s enough money to dispel my notion of the underpaid, overworked programmers who love their craft. Now I think it’s fair to assume those guys are sipping expensive cognac whilst lighting their cigars with $100 dollar bills. You know what? More power to them! Blizzard makes a damn fine game, and they profit. I’m ok with that, but can we spend SOME of that 1.5 billion a year on MORE programmers who love their jobs? Let’s get these games OUT people!
Peep these, in the meantime!
